Missy Moppins
Helping people help themselves has been an interest of mine, even before I knew where my career path would lead me. I’m a psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience in mental health and social work. I bring warmth, empathy, a non-judgmental stance, and my genuine self into the space when I am meeting with clients. My treatment approach focuses on a strength based perspective incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy. I bring a unique perspective working with the cancer community, as cancer has impacted my life. Hearing the words “you have cancer”, going through treatment, figuring out life after treatment, or navigating a life of treatment can bring on an array of thoughts and feelings. I am able to give compassionate understanding through counseling support for retreat members. I received my masters degree in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis, with concentrations in mental health and children, youth, and families. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). |
